Emily Dobbs is a critically-acclaimed chef working with creative brands, artists and designers through culture, fashion, design and cuisine. She uses British seasonal ingredients as her base, and emulates the spirit of her second home Sri Lanka to carefully layer flavours, shapes, textures and colours. Her food is unique, fresh, bright and vibrant designed for collaboration.
Having trained in fine art, Emily then worked in various top London restaurants for 10 years, created a successful pop up stall and wrote two published cookbooks; Weligama, recipes from Sri Lanka 2017 and The Spice Box 2023.
Emily now works closely with brands including Miista and Tekla. As well as hosting residencies; Quo Vadis, Italo, Lucky & Joy and Oranj.
Emily has also catered for artists at Lypiatt Park, White Cube Gallery and Cabinet Gallery. She has also catered for Colombo Fashion Week and held demonstrations at Port Eliot. Her second publication, The Spice Box, was published in 2023.
Emily’s creative, flavour-focused cooking draws on a unique blend of cultural influences, resulting in truly unusual and frequently thrilling food. She curates vibrant, colourful menus, inspired by the conviviality of street food markets. Her food is generous, heartfelt, and beautiful.
